Learning is alive in Middle School at Sacred Heart Catholic School!

Math

Beginning in 6th Grade, Middle School students receive differentiated, Mathematics instruction. This approach allows smaller classes sizes, where teachers are able to better meet the needs of each individual student.

Religion

At Sacred Heart, we believe Jesus is the center of our lives, and He is at the center of every day. Middle school students receive dedicated Religion education every day, taught by Sr. Mary Ann (School Sisters of Notre Dame). Students in Middle School explore the Old Testament, as well as learn how to live as disciples of Jesus.

Language Arts

Middle School students enjoy a Language Arts block each day. During this time, students hone in on their reading, writing, vocabulary and grammar skills. Students are exposed to a rich and diverse collection of literature, through a rigorous curriculum.

Social Studies

Our Middle Schoolers are Students of History. Each year, the curriculum has a different focus. In 6th Grade, our students study the ancient civilizations of the world. In 7th Grade, students learn all about what it means to be an American citizen, with a close look at the structure and function of the United States Government, while in 8th Grade, students go in  depth with American History.

Science

Life Science, Physical Science, Earth Science- our students learn it all! Through a combination of traditional and hands on lessons, students have the opportunity to explore all of the beautiful things God has given us.

Electives

Educating the whole child means exposing children to all the world has to offer. Though elective classes, students learn new skills. All middle school students receive instruction in Physical Education, Art and Spanish. Additionally, students are able to choose a rotating elective each trimester, such as, Mixed Media Art, Engineering, Bible Study or News Broadcast.
